You get a firm price before any work starts.</p><h2>Common questions</h2><h3>Do I need an electrician to change a light fitting?</h3><p>Not for a like-for-like swap, which is what this covers. New circuits, moving switches and anything at the fuse board need a qualified electrician, and that work is referred on.</p><h3>How often should smoke alarms be replaced?</h3><p>The sensors wear out, so alarms need replacing after about ten years, not just new batteries. Check the date printed on the back of yours.</p><h3>Do you fit carbon monoxide alarms?</h3><p>Yes. They matter most through the heating season, when appliances are running hardest.</p><h3>Can you change a bulb I cannot reach?</h3><p>Yes.
