Last updated: 5 August 2026

This policy explains what personal information NW Handyman Services collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have kept it short and in plain English.

Who we are

NW Handyman Services is the data controller for the information described here. That means we decide how and why your information is used. You can reach us by email at [email protected] or by phone on 07961 104266, and we will give you our full postal address on request.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for your job and carry it out.

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address, if you give one
  • What you tell us about the job, including the address where the work is needed
  • Any photos of the job you choose to send us

We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not ask for special category information such as health or ethnicity.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To answer your enquiry and give you a price. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To carry out the work you book. Our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep business and tax records. Our lawful basis is our legal obligation to keep accounting records.

We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Who sees your information

Your information is seen by the person doing your job, and by the suppliers who run our systems for us, such as our website host and email provider. They act on our instructions and cannot use your information for their own purposes.

We share it with anyone else only where the law requires it, or where it is needed to bring or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become a job: up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • Completed jobs: six years after the end of the tax year the work was invoiced in, because business records have to be kept for tax purposes.

Cookies and this website

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through.

Our pages load a typeface from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your device requests that file from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address. We do not receive that information and we do not use it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
  • Restrict or object to how we use it
  • Provide it in a portable format

To do any of these, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month, and there is no charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
