The paint on the outside of your house does a job. When it cracks and peels, water gets into the wood and render behind it. Then the repairs get expensive.

You get old paint scraped back, surfaces primed, and small repairs made before any new paint goes on. Work is booked around dry weather so the paint cures and lasts.

What time of year can this be done?

Exterior paint needs dry weather to cure, so work is booked around it. If a week looks wrong for painting outside, we will say so rather than rush it on.

What can you paint outside?

Render and masonry, fascias, soffits and bargeboards, front and garage doors, window frames, sheds, garden walls and outbuildings.

Do you repair the wood before painting?

Yes. Old paint is scraped back and small repairs are made first. Painting over bare or soft timber just traps the problem.

Can you clear the gutters while you are up there?

Yes, that is a sensible job to combine. See gutter cleaning and roof repairs.

Do you paint fences and sheds as well as the house?

Yes. Sheds, garden walls and outbuildings are all painted or treated. If the fence itself needs repair first, see fence, gate and decking repairs.
