What the job involves

Holes and cracks in walls are easy to make and easy to ignore. But paint cannot hide them, and one damaged patch makes a whole room look rough.

Damaged plasterboard gets cut out and replaced. Cracks are filled and taped so they do not come back. Water-damaged plaster is removed and made good. The repair is sanded flat and ready for paint.

Common questions

What is the difference between plaster and plasterboard?

Plasterboard is the flat board fixed to the wall or ceiling. Plaster is the smooth skim on top. Both get repaired here.

There is a brown stain on my ceiling. Can you fix it?

Yes, but the leak has to be stopped first, or the stain comes straight back. Once it is dry the damaged section is cut out and replaced.

Will the repair be invisible?

Once it is sanded flat and painted, yes. Bare repairs always show, so the wall needs painting afterwards.

Can you paint it once it is repaired?

Yes, and doing both in one booking is cheaper. See interior painting and decorating.

Do you replaster whole rooms?

Repairs and small areas, yes. A full re-skim of a whole room or house is a plasterer's job, and you will be told when that is what you actually need rather than being sold a patch that will not hold.
